Focused Clinical Workshops
Subject-specific clinical learning for dermatologists seeking greater depth in a defined area of aesthetic medicine, medical cosmetology, procedural dermatology or hair practice.
Advanced Learning, Directed to a Defined Clinical Need
A dermatologist may have substantial clinical experience yet require greater depth in one procedure, device platform or treatment problem. In such situations, another broad programme may be unnecessary; the learning need is specific, advanced and immediately relevant to practice.
IIAM’s Focused Clinical Workshops are designed to examine that defined area with clinical rigour. Teaching is organised around assessment, indication, patient selection, treatment planning, technique or parameter selection, sequencing, safety, complication awareness and appropriate integration with existing dermatology practice.
The workshop is planned only after reviewing the participant’s professional needs, prior experience and intended clinical application. Its depth and format may therefore include advanced discussion, protocol review, demonstration and practical orientation at a level appropriate to the clinician.

Workshops Beyond the Indicative Themes
IIAM may consider another suitable subject, a coherent combination of related themes or a narrowly defined procedural objective. The final scope is determined after reviewing the dermatologist’s qualification, experience, learning requirement, lawful scope of practice and the availability of appropriate faculty and clinical-learning opportunities.
How the Workshop Is Academically Planned
Each workshop is academically structured to ensure that the content, faculty and practical orientation align with the participant's clinical objectives and level of experience.
Define the Learning Objective
Clarify the clinical decision, procedure, device or treatment problem the dermatologist wishes to address.
Establish the Clinical Baseline
Review specialty, existing experience, current protocols and prior exposure to the subject.
Structure the Content
Determine the depth, sequence and balance of discussion, demonstration and practical orientation.
Determine Faculty and Format
Select the appropriate faculty and decide whether the workshop will be conducted individually or in a limited-group format.
Issue the Workshop Proposal
Communicate the proposed content, duration, schedule, programme inclusions, fee structure and applicable terms in writing.

DR. L.K. DESAI
"Founder and Academic Director, IIAM"
Focused Clinical Workshops are planned under Dr. Desai’s academic direction. Their content is shaped around clinical relevance, participant suitability, treatment planning, procedural safety and the appropriate limits of the selected intervention. According to the subject, specialist faculty may contribute defined teaching in areas such as plastic and aesthetic surgery, device-based treatment or restorative practice
Dr. Sumit Saxena
Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery
Dr. Saxena contributes a plastic surgeon's perspective to facial and surgical anatomy, structural ageing, tissue planes, healing, scarring, complication awareness and the clinical boundaries between surgical and non-surgical treatment
Faculty Assignment
Faculty is selected according to the approved theme and agreed learning scope. A workshop may be led by the Academic Director or include selected specialist faculty, with the final assignment stated in the written workshop proposal.
| Format | Duration | Location | Participants | Learning model | Faculty | Certificate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Individual or limited small-group workshop | Defined by the selected subject, prior experience and agreed learning scope | IIAM, Pune | Participants Qualified dermatologists meeting the workshop-specific requirements | Discussion, protocol review, demonstration and practical orientation as appropriate | Assigned according to the subject | IIAM Workshop Completion Certificate |
Individual Attention by Design
IIAM deliberately limits participation. Smaller intakes allow closer faculty interaction, more substantive clinical discussion and teaching calibrated to the experience of the attending dermatologists.
Workshop Fees
Workshop fees, inclusions and the applicable payment schedule are shared after the requested subject, participant background and proposed format have been reviewed.
Scheduling and Confirmation
Workshop dates are proposed only after the subject, participant suitability, faculty availability and appropriate learning opportunities have been established.
An enquiry does not confirm the workshop or reserve enrolment. Participation is secured only after the written scope, schedule, fee and applicable formalities have been accepted and IIAM has issued written confirmation.
Practical Exposure
Practical exposure may include demonstration, observation, assisted participation or supervised hands-on work. Its nature depends on the workshop theme, participant readiness, patient suitability, informed consent, case availability and faculty judgement. |
Who May Enquire
Focused Clinical Workshops are intended for dermatologists seeking concentrated learning in a defined clinical area.
Eligibility differs by subject. Workshops involving injectables, lasers, energy-based devices or other advanced procedures are considered only where the dermatologist’s qualification, experience and lawful scope are appropriate to the requested training.
